Bay Packers LP is 100% Māori Owned. It is owned equally by Moana New Zealand, Te Arawa Fisheries limited, Te Pataka a Tangaroa Limited, Nga Rauru Ki Tahi, Ngāti Ranginui Iwi Fisheries Holdings Company Limited and Ngāti Tuwharetoa Fisheries Holdings Limited.
Bay Packers include fishing quota shares the main quota being 16.8 metric tonnes of southern bluefin tuna, tuna grading, packing and export sales are carried out from its Mount Maunganui factory. Packing of tuna for Moana New Zealand and domestic product and sales such as gurnard, tarakihi and snapper. Bay Packers has a retail shop at its factory in Mount Maunganui. Smoke production and sales, and a mobile Seafood Truck Operation operating across Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions.
Bay Packers have 34 permanent staff, including 30 operational staff. Casuals are also employed during the busy season.
